Two arrested with 51 bags of poppy husk

Chandigarh, Mar 18 (UNI) Haryana Police has caught two smugglers alongwith 51 bags of poppy husk in Sirsa district.

A spokesman of the Haryana Police Department here today said that the two narcotics smugglers Jagdish and Sewak Singh of village Abub Shehar were arrested, while search operation for three other smugglers Manjit Singh, Dhanraj and Gurpreet Singh was in progress.

He said that these smugglers were involved in supplying the poppy husk to Jagdish and Sewak Singh, who in turn, sell them to the local residents.

He said that on a tip off, police party raided the house of Jagdish and Sewak. During the raid, they recovered 21 gunny bags of poppy husk from the house of Jagdish and another 30 bags of poppy husk from the house of Sewak Singh.
