Three criminals arrested in journalist murder case

Hyderabad, Mar 18 (UNI) A special police team today arrested three notorious criminals who brutally killed Syed Sirajul Hassan, a freelance journalist on March 14, 2006, in the city.

Police said the accused were identified as Syed Munavaruddin (26), Mohd Lateef (24), and Mohd Firdous (23).

The accused had criminal records at Habeebnagar, Chikkadapally, Rajendranagar and Humayun Nagar Police Stations. They were also involved in cases of extortion, hurt, attempt to murder and murder cases.

The deceased, in the fruit business, was found with the visiting card recording his occupation as Crime Reporter of the Hi-Tech News Service. The investigation disclosed that the accused had a grudge against the scribe.

A case has been registered and investigations were underway, police added.
