Kohima, Mar 18 (UNI) Former Nagaland Finance Minister Kewekhape Theirie today came down heavily on the ruling Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) for not implementing the assurances committed through the Common Minimum Programme (CMP) before the elections.

Taking part in the discussion on the motion of thanks on the Governor's address, Mr Therie alleged that the DAN through its CMP had assured the people of the state a peaceful atmosphere.

But the fear psychosis still continued in every part of the state and continued gun-culture had became a threat to the people with no security of life and property, he alleged.

He alleged that under the DAN rule, the government employees were compelled to pay taxes to the underground and the money given to the Village Development Board (VDB) for the development of villages were shared with the underground factions.

He also alleged that extortion was freely continuing in the state under the alleged patronage of the government and there was rampant corruption in the government departments.

Congress members Yankithung Yanthan, K V Pusa, Medokul, including the leader of the opposition I Imkong also attacked the DAN government during the question hour.
