Itanagar, Mar 18: A vision document would be prepared by Arunachal Pradesh Government to prevent floods by major rivers during the monsoons, state Irrigation and Flood Control Minister Tako Dabi said.

Addressing a meeting at Nari under Arunachal's East Siang district yesterday (Mar 17, 2006), Mr Dabi said that a vision document would be prepared as a long term planning for his department and stated that the State Government was committed to development.

Mr Dabi said his endeavor was to uplift economy and to bring a quality social change in the tribal society.

''Lethargic people bring decay in the society while hardworking and liberal people create better societies,'' he said, adding that people should be united and work for development.

Stressing on the need to encourage women in the society, Mr Dabi pointed out that women were stronger and compassionate and could bring about a positive change in the society.
