SIDCO cleared RS.700 crore investment proposals in J K
Jammu, Mar 18 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir State Industries Development Corporation (SIDCO) has cleared 56 investment proposals in medium and large scale sector under single window clearance system during the current year which would mobilize an aggregate investment of more than rs.700 crore and provide employment avenues for 8000 persons in the state.
The 127th board of directors meeting of SIDCO was held here today under the Chairmanship of Minister of Industries and Commerce Nawang Rigzin Jora who is also chairman of the board.
The board said the status of investment proposal in the valley as Apex Projects Clearance Committee (APCC) has clearedover 50 projects during the current year. An inland container depot was being established at Rangret in Srinagar, which would benefit and enhance the export business from the state.
The board was informed the central goveernment has cleared the project involving a cost of rs.14.60 crores. The board initially reviewed the progress of various centrally sponsored schemes and the agenda items of the previous meeting.
It was also noted the progress on the common affluent treatment plants of leather industries being established by the corporation one each at industrial growth centre Pulwama and Samba.
Among other the meeting was attended by Financial Commissioner power B R Kundal, Principal Secretary Industries S S Kapoor and Managing Director SIDCO Irfan Ahmed.
