Seema Biswas wins Best Actress honour at Canadian national awards
New Delhi, Mar 18 (UNI) 'Bandit Queen' Seema Biswas has won the Best Actress prize at Canadian national film awards for her performance in Deepa Mehta's 'Water'.
'Water' was nominated in eight categories, including Best Picture and Best Director.
Biswas is best known for her leading role in Shekhar Kapoor's 'Bandit Queen' based on the life of Phoolan Devi, which won her the national award for Best Actress.
''It's a big surprise for me,'' said Biswas.
'Water' is the closing film at the International Film Festival in Mumbai that begins on March 23.
