Private participation invited for infrastructure in HP

Shimla, Mar 18 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh government would explore possibilities of creating the infrastructure of global standards with private participation to cater to the needs of the future generations, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today said.

The government was encouraging private participation to supplement the endeavour of the state government to create world class infrastructural facilities in the state, he said while talking to a high level delegation of SKIL Infrastructure Limited.

Mr Singh said the state had vast natural potential which could be expolited well by the private enterpreneurs and invited them to invest in the state.

The state government had to set up two Speical Economic Zones in the s tate where a minimum of Rs 5,000 investment in each was estimated, besides one NRI township with international airport facilities, natural wealth for tourism purposes and development of satellite townships to decongest the existing towns, he said.

The Chief Minister said various other projects for better road, air and rail communication facilities had also been envisioned where private participation was being encouraged.
