Plea to intervene in attack on missionary orphanage
New Delhi, Mar 18 (UNI) CPI(M) member Dr K S Manoj today alleged that the RSS had launched a systematic conspiracy against a missionary institute running an orphanage in Rajasthan's Kota and urged the government to intervene in the matter.
Raising the issue during zero hour in the Lok Sabha, the CPI(M) member said the RSS had intensified its attack on the Christian organisation, which had been running since a long time at Kota in Rajasthan. The Mission was housing 2,000 children, and had schools and hospitals.
The registration of the institution had been cancelled, its bank account sealed and its incharge assaulted recently, he alleged.
Bishop and incharge of the Mission Dr Samuel Thomas had been arrested by the Rajasthan police in Delhi in connection with the publication of a book, Mr Manoj said adding the situation there was serious.
He called for the Government's intervention in the matter so that the confidence of the minority community could be restored.
