One Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist surrenders in Rajouri
Jammu, Mar 18 (UNI) A hardcore terrorist of Pakistan-based Hizbul Mujahideen outfit surrendered before the security forces at Balakote under Mendhar Police Station in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir this morning.
Deputy Inspector General of Police V K Singh told UNI that Qutubuddin, son of Syed Ghulam Nabi, resident of Bhumihar in Uri, surrendered with his arms and ammunition. He was later handed over to the police.
Qutubuddin handed over one AK-56 rifle, one magazine, 27 AK rounds and four grenades. He had joined the hardcore terrorist outfit in 1993. In 1994, he crossed over to Pakistan for training.
After an year, he returned to the valley and was involved in various terrorist activities, Mr Singh said.
He again went back to Pakistan and returned before the devastating earthquake shook the state last October.
