No nomination filed for Rajya Sabha poll from Haryana

Chandigarh, Mar 17 (UNI) No nomination papers were filed today to fill the lone seat in the Rajya Sabha in Haryana.

The seat would fall vacant on the retirement of sitting member of Rajya Sabha, Mr Faqir Chand.

Union Law Minister Hans Raj Bhardwaj yesterday filed his paper as Congress Candidate.

The process of filing of nominations started on March 10 with the issuing of notification by the Election Commission. The scrutiny of nominations will be held tomorrow. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is on March 20 Polling, if necessary will be held on March 28 from 0900 hours to 1600 hours in the old committee room of Haryana Vidhan Sabha secretariat here.
