Muslims form joint Ulema Board

Lucknow, Mar 18 (UNI) The Muslim clerics here have formed a Joint Ulema Board to spearhead issues concerning the Muslim community.

A decision to this respect was taken unanimously at a meeting of clerics from both Shia and Sunni sects held at the Jama Masjid Shahi Tila here yesterday, a press release said here today.

Prominent clerics Maulana Kalbe Jawad, Maulana Fazlur Rehman Waizi Nadwi, Maulana Jahangir Alam Kasmi, Maulana Iqbal Ahmad Qadri were elected to the working committee of the new Board.
