Man caught with detonator near PMO arrested, sent to jail
New Delhi, Mar 18 (UNI) A mentally disturbed man who was caught carrying a detonator from near the Prime Minister's Office at South Block in Central Delhi last evening, has been arrested and sent to judicial custody.
An FIR had been registered and he was formally charged under the Explosives Act, police sources said.
The man, 35-year-old Ashok Kumar hailing from Rothas district in Bihar, was picked up at about 1600 hrs by PM's security personnel yesterday.
A joint team of the Delhi police and central intelligence agencies interrogated him.
He told the investigators that his brother had been murdered and he had been falsely implicated in the case. He said he had been trying to clear the things with the high officials but to no avail.
Kumar claimed that the detonator belonged to conspirators behind his brother's murder.
The sleuths found him to be mentally disturbed.
