LDF seat sharing process to be completed by March 25: Paloli
Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 18 (UNI) The seat sharing exercise in the Left Democratic Front (LDF) for the coming assembly elections in Kerala will be completed by March 25, its Convenor Paloli Mohammad Kutty said today.
Talking to newspersons here he said the final list would be announced by March 25, after sorting out the remaining issues.
The draft copy of the LDF manifesto, prepared by a committee, was also distributed among the Front partners for their suggestions, he said after the Front meeting.
The final manifesto would also come out on March 25 after detailed discussions, he said.
Mr Mohammad Kutty said it was decided to convene a meeting of the LDF district committees by March 23 to chalk out election strategies and organisational matters. Besides this, the LDF would also organise a three-phase election propaganda from April 5 to 30, he added.
Reacting to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy's remark that the LDF had not cooperated with the Government in implementing the pay commission report, the LDF convenor alleged that though it had to be originally implmented in 2002, the Oommen Chandy Government stretched it till 2006, keeping the assembly poll in mind.
Though Mr Chandy had assured in the Assembly that the recommendations would be implemented before February 28, he waited till the election was declared, he alleged.
The Opposition could not blindly accept the recommendations as it is, because it had enough anomalies, Mr Mohammad Kutty alleged, adding that it had suggested the Government to clear the anomalies.
The Government, however, did not take steps to iron out the shortcomings in the report, he added.
