K'taka to take action against land mafia

Bangalore, Mar 18: The Karnataka Government will taken stringent action against those involved in land grabbing in and around the city, Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa said today (Mar 18, 2006).

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a Yuva Morcha programme here, he informed that the government had found that the land mafia had encroached upon land worth Rs 10,000 crore in and around the city and decided to detect those involved in the land scam.

Mr Yediyurappa said the government would not spare anyone involved in the scam, including politicians.

Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy had already announced that he would order an inquiry into the land grabbings, he pointed out.
