Head Master arrested on charges of sexual harassment

Rourkela, Mar 18 (UNI) Police today arrested a head Master of a Sebshram School on the charges of sexually harassing girl students.

Ankul Hat (47), Head Master of Domerjora Sebashram school, was arrested from Biramitrapur after the parents lodged an FIR against him for allegedly harassing girl students sexually inside the school premises.

The allegation was that he used to call the girls to his room in the hostel and harass them sexually. He would threaten the students with dire consequences if they disclosed the matter to anybody.

The matter came to light recently when some students taking advantage of the absence of the headmaster, reported the matter to their parents.

On receipt of a complaint, the District Welfare officer and District Education Official conducted an inquiry into the incident.

The police raided the house of the headmaster at Semana village but could not trace him. He was later arrested during the day by the Biramitrapur police.
