Gold and Silver worth Rs 22 lakh looted from historic Tazia

Gorakhpur, Mar 18 (UNI) The gold and silver worth Rs 22 lakh, carved in a historic Tazia in the Imambara Estate here, has been allegedly looted.

Senior Police Superintendent Dipesh Juneja today said here the heist came to light this morning, when the devotees at the Imambara reported that two and a half kg gold and 15 kg silver carved in the historic Tazia was missing.

Meanwhile, the Maulvi of the Imambara Estate has denied the role of any Imambara insider in the crime.
