Farmers attain record production of foodgrains: Minister

Guntur, Andhra Pradesh Mar 18 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Agriculture Minister P Raghuveera Reddy today lauded the farmers and the agriculture department for the record production of 109 lakh tonnes of foodgrains in the State in 2005.

He was inaugurating the Conference of agriculture and allied departments from seven coastal districts here.

Mr Reddy alleged that the farmers had lost confidence in the agriculture department officials during the nine year Telegu Desam Party(TDP) regime.

The Government's policy was to accord top priority to the agriculture, he added.
