Cong, TDP to be elected to RS
Hyderabad, Mar 18: All the 15 nominations filed by the six candidates for the Rajya Sabha seats from Andhra Pradesh were found to be valid.
State Assembly Deputy Secretary Raja Sadaram told UNI that the Congress candidate Dr K Keshava Rao had filed three sets of nominations while the TDP candidate Dr M V Mysooora Reddy filed four sets of nominations.
The remaining candidates, Mohd Azeez Pasha of (CPI), Union Minister of state for Mines Dasari Narayana Rao, Rashid Alvi and G Sanjeeva Reddy (all Congress), had filed two sets of nominations each.
Mr Sadaram said all the 15 nominations were found to be valid. The deadline for withdrawal of nominations was at 1500 hours on March 20.
The six candidates are likely to be declared elected unopposed on March 28.
