Clearance necessary for political advertisements on TV

Guwahati, Mar 18 (UNI) Advertisements on TV channels and cable networks in connection with the coming elections to the Asom Assembly can be telecast only after receiving clearance from a committee set up by the Election Commission (EC), official sources here said.

The EC has directed all political parties to submit applications to the committee, headed by the Additional Chief Electoral Officer.

The committee will receive and dispose applications for clearance of such advertisements for telecast, the sources added.
