Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu, Mar 18 (UNI) An anonymous letter stating that a bomb would explode in the District Collectorate office today, turned out to be a hoax.

Police said the letter, received by the Collectorate, two days ago stated that bomb would explode in the premises on ''March 19 Saturday''.

Police along with bomb disposal squad personnel and sniffer dogs made a thorough search of the premises, but found no explosive.

Since the day and date were confusing and March 19 falls tomorrow, police had made elaborate security arrangements in the premises.

Similar hoax calls were received by the District DSP a couple of days ago. Anonymous calls that bombs would explode in schools in Vridhachalam and Neyveli had also been received in the recent past.
