All seven RS nominations found valid in Bihar
Patna, Mar 18 (UNI) The nomination papers filed by Bihar Legislative Council Chairman Jabir Hussain, former union minister Ravi Shanker Prasad and other five nominees for the biennial election to fill up six Rajya Sabha seats from Bihar were found valid during scrutiny today.
Acting secretary to Bihar Assembly cum returning officer Braj Kishore Singh Prabhat said here besides nomination papers of Professor Hussain (RJD) and Mr Prasad (BJP), nomination papers of three JD(U) nominees-- Mahendra Sahni, Ali Anwar and Mahendra Prasad and also those of another RJD nominee Rajneeti Prasad and LJP nominee Ranjan Prasad Yadav were found valid during scrutiny.
Six seats of Rajya Sabha from Bihar have to be filled up in the RS election, thus a keen contest is being awaited between LJP nominee Ranjan Prasad Yadav and the second RJD nominee Rajneeti Prasad.
Nomination papers filed by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar (JD-U), Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi (BJP) and others for filling up 11 seats of Bihar Legislative Council were also found valid during scrutiny.
Nomination papers filed by state parliamentary affairs minister and water resources minister Ramashryaya Prasad Singh (JD-U), state agriculture minister Narendra Singh (JD-U), fomer union minister Nagmani (JD-U), Baleshwar Singh Bharti (BJP), Tarakant Jha (BJP), Uday Narain Rai (RJD), Bhim Singh (RJD), Chandan Bagchi (Congress) and Sanjay Singh (LJP) for Bihar Legislative Council were also found valid during scrutiny.
