Adulteration to be made non-bailable offence in Maharashtra

Mumbai, Mar 18 (UNI) Adulteration will soon be made a non-bailable offence in Maharashtra, Minister of Stae for Food&Drug Administration (FDA) Baba Siddique told the State Assembly today.

Replying to supplementaries during the question hour, Mr Siddique said a decision to this effect has been taken in the cabinet meeting held on March 16.

The main question was asked by Girish Bapat (BJP) regarding the sale of carrots covered with adulterated colours, in Mumbai and Pune.

Mr Siddique said charges have been filed in two cases.
