6 killed in separate road mishaps in K'taka
Bangalore, Mar 18 (UNI) Six people, including a teenaged girl, were killed in separate accidents in Karnataka today.
Police said three labourers were killed when a sand laden-truck in which they were travelling hit a roadside tree at Nuggehalli in Hassan district.
The mishap occurred when the driver of the speeding truck lost control over the vehicle.
In another incident, two curious onlookers at an accident spot, where two trucks were involved in a mishap, were run over by another truck at Kadajjanapalya in Shira taluk in Tumkur district.
The deceased were identified as Najanappa (20) and Venkatesh (27).
In the third mishap, a 15-year-old school girl was crushed to death when a tractor hit an auto in which she was proceeding to school at Chamarajanagar town.
Irked residents of the area took to the streets in protest against the incident and some miscreants even torched an autorickshaw. However, they disbursed after the police intervened and pacified them.
