350 doctors to be appointed on contract

Patna, Mar 18 (UNI) The Bihar government has decided to appoint 350 doctors on contract basis to fill up the vacant posts in different medical colleges of the state.

State Health Secretary Deepak Kumar said here today that all the medical colleges had been directed to send the list of vacant posts of doctors, following which the process for appointment would be initiated.

Mr Kumar informed that the appointments would be made through district health committees. He clarified that doctors appointed on contract basis would be placed in basic pay scale of Rs 6,500-10,500.

''The State government is committed to fill up all the vacant posts of doctors in medical colleges of the state,'' he added.

Contractual appointments of doctors would be in addition to recruitment of 250 doctors on regular basis as announced by the state government earlier.
