24 villages notified as over exploited for water in Gurgaon
Chandigarh, Mar 18 (UNI) The Central Ground Water Authority has notified 24 villages in Gurgoan district as over exploited area for regulation of ground water development and management.
These villages fall in Gurgaon block and Farukhnagar block of the district. Under this notification, registration would be mandatory for all owners of ground water structures, including open well, tubewell and borewell, located in these areas.
The registration work will be carried out in the office of Haryana State Industrial Development Corporation, Manesar.
Henceforth, tubewell cannot be constructed in these areas without the prior permission of the Central Ground Water Authority.
A meeting regarding registration of tubewells in the notified areas was held today under the chairmanship of Gurgaon Deputy Commissioner R P Bhardwaj. Officials from Central Ground Water Board (Chandigarh) Superintending Hydrologist, Scientist and Hydrologist Ground Water Cell, Gurgaon, participated in the meeting.
The registration would be free of cost and forms will be supplied in the concerned offices where the registration work will be carried out.
