Varsity lathicharge : Journos demand action against cops

Hyderabad, Mar 17 (UNI) The Hyderabad Union of Journalists (HUJ) has urged Andhra Pradesh Home Minister K Jana Reddy to take stringent action against police officials for allegedly ''misbehaving'' with mediapersons while covering the arrests at the Osmania University campus on Wednesday.

The Minister assured the delegation that action would be taken against those responsible, a HUJ release said.

The journalists urged the government to ensure that they were not not subjected to attacks while discharging their duties.
