UP to punish over 250 corrupt police personnel
Lucknow, Mar 17 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government is set to take punitive action against 250 police personnel, action against whom has been recommended by the Anti-Corruption Bureau of the state police.
State Principal Secretary (Home) Alok Sinha said here today that the decision to take stringent action against the police personnel has been taken following recommendation of the ACB, which has investigated and disposed corruption cases against the concerned policemen during the last year.
He said that the police personnel included two each of the rank of police superintendent and additional superintendent, 13 of the rank of DSP, 22 inspectors, 61 sub-inspectors, 14 head constables and 18 constables.
Besides this, action has been recommended against more than 12 gazetted officers and 127 non-gazetted officers of the police department.
