TNCC members demands Nellai Kannan's expulsion

Chennai, Mar 17 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) General Council Member A S Munavar Batcha today demanded the expulsion of Nellai Kannan, who has announced his support for AIADMK, from the party.

In a statement here, he said Mr Kannan meeting AIADMK supremo and Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa at the latter's Poes Garden residence went against Party's discipline.

He urged the Congress High Command to immediately expel Mr Kanan from the party.

During his meeting, Mr Kannan pledged support to the AIADMK in the May eight polls to the State Assembly.

The Congress is an ally of the DMK-led DPA in Tamil Nadu.
