Ticket seekers throng Congress office for ensuing poll

Pondicherry, Mar 17 (UNI) Heavy rush to obtain the party ticket from Congress to contest the May three and eight Assembly election was seen here with as many as 390 aspirants filing application forms.

All the ministers, legislators, Speaker, Deputy speaker and the Rajya Sabha member, V Narayanasamy, who is the AICC General Secretary, including 14 women filed their applications at the PCC Pradesh Congress Committee (I) office here, yesterday the last for sumbission of forms.

The party High Command, would scrutinise the applications and select the candidates for the ensuing poll.

The Congress party is likely to contest in alliance with the Democratci Progressive Alliance (DPA) partners in 16 or 17 seats.
