Ten stadiums for 2010 World Cup agreed by FIFA
ZURICH, Mar 17 (Reuters) FIFA said it agreed today with South Africa's plans to host the 2010 World Cup in 10 stadiums located in nine cities.
Four new stadiums will be built in Cape Town (Greenpoint Stadium), Port Elizabeth (Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium), Durban (King's Park Stadium) and Nelspruit (Mbombela Stadium).
Six others in Rustenburg (Royal Bafokeng Stadium), Bloemfontein (Free State Stadium), Pretoria (Loftus Versfeld Stadium), Polokwane (Peter Mokaba Stadium) and Johannesburg (Soccer City and Ellis Park Stadiums) will be upgraded.
The stadiums were agreed after a meeting of FIFA's executive committee that ended today.
The 2006 World Cup in Germany starts on June 9.
