Sify brings online shopping portal for mobile users

Chennai, Mar 17 (UNI) www.sifymall.com, an online shopping portal from Sify Limited, announced that mobile phone users on GPRS services would be able to buy a wide range of products and services over their phones starting today.

To enable this easy to use and path-breaking initiative, SifyMall has tied up with JiGrahak, a mobility soltions provider, and would be using JiGrahak's mcommerce/m-payment platform 'NGPay' (Next Generation Pay), a release here said.

Noting that Indian mobile subscriber base was growing at the rate of two million users a month and was expected to touch 200 million by 2007, Interactive Services Senior Vice-President Surya Mantha said 'we expect to grow mobile shopping service space with one-of-a-kind offering and work towards being a leader in this area.'
