SC development review report of Surat district published

Surat, Mar 17 (UNI) National Commission for Scheduled Caste Vice Chairman Fakirbhai Vaghela today revealed the ''review report of SC deveopment of the district'' here.

Addressing a news conference here today, Mr Vaghela said that a number SC development schemes are on the anvil.

As per the report, no complaints had been received in the last three years for the harassment of scheduled caste officers of Panchayati Raj institutions.

The report also claimed that the percentage of education of SC students is higher than that of general category.

As per the report, the total percentage of education in general categoty is 54 per cent, while that of SC students is 59 per cent.

According to the report, 61 per cent of males and 46 per cent of females in the general category were educated, while in the SC category, the percentage was 68 for males and 50 for females.

The report claimed that all the SC villages have been provided with the drinking water and electricity facilities.

The report also said that there were no landless SC families in the district.
