Rupee opens seven paise stronger at 44.35/37 per USD
Mumbai, Mar 17 (UNI) The rupee today opened around seven paise stronger at 44.35/37 per US dollar as compared to the last close of 44.4250/4,350, said a foreign exchange (forex) dealer here.
The rupee however, was losing the early morning gains trading at 44.4150/41,250 per US dollar at 1128 hrs, the dealer added.
The crude prices in the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) traded above USD 63 per barrel at 63.47 per barrel which might weaken rupee during the day.
However, the stock markets were at an all time high of 10,951 points this morning which could support rupee with a positive close.
