Rs five crore sanctioned for replacing old bridge
Bilaspur, Mar 17 (UNI) Rs five crore has been sanctioned for replacing an old bridge at Ghagus and construction of two more bridges in Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh, Forest Minister Ram All Thakur today said.
The Ghagus bridge has outlived its life and is a vital link to Mandi and Kullu districts of the state, he said, while addressing a gathering after inaugurating a week-long state Nalwari fair here.
Talking about the bridge over Govindsagar, Mr. Thakur said irrespective of the promises made by the previous BJP government, it was the Virbhadra Singh government which made budgetary provisions for the bridge.
He said the Centre has also sanctioned Rs 3.32 crore to the district under the rural sanitation programme for the construction of toilets in rural areas of the district.
