Remand prisoner escapes

Tiruchirapalli, Mar 17 (UNI) A 29-year-old remand prisoner who was admitted to the Government Headquarters Hospital here for an ailment escaped from the hospital today.

Police said Ismail, a notorious burglar, was arrested in connection with a theft case. He was later remanded in judicial custody.

He was lodged in the Central Prison here where he swooned yesterday after suffering acute ache.Ismail was rushed to the hospital for treatment where he gave the slip to police.
