Chandigarh, Mar 17 (UNI) The fortnight long budget session of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha was today adjourned sine die.

The motion for adjournment of the current session was moved by Parliamentary Affairs minister Ch Jagjit Singh, and passed unanimously.

The state's annual budget for 2006-07, which was presented in the house with no new taxes by finance minister Surinder Singla on March 7, was passed yesterday by a voice vote in the absence of the opposition Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and BJP benches who had staged a walkout.

The 15-day session witnessed uproar on several issues which mainly included the telecast of a controversial news documentary 'Desh Droh' on a news channel in which separatists like ex-MP Simranjit Singh Mann and Jagjit Singh Chohan were interviewed and the Punjab DGP S S Virk's revelations about the fake killings of certain terrorists at a press conference and during the discussion on the governor's address to the Vidhan Sabha.
