Principal injured in row with students

Hyderabad, Mar 17 (UNI) A row over organising a seminar in the Arts College of Osmania University by student groups belonging to SC,ST and BC led to mild tension as College Principal G Satyanarayana sustained minor injury on his hand in the melee today.

Police said a group of students sought Prof Satyanarayana's permission to organise a day-long seminar in the college.

When the principal said they could hold the seminar between 1400 hrs and 17 hrs, angry students picked up an argument with him. In the melee, Prof Satyanarayana sustained minor injury on his hand.

Meanwhile, a group of ABVP students reached there and demanded the Principal to take action against the students leading to more arguments.

However, the Principal said he would not complain against the students and went to the Campus Administrative Building for discussions on the issue.

The situation was under control when reports last came in.
