One killed, three injured in inter-community clash in Meerut

Lucknow, Mar 17 (UNI) A man belonging to the minority community was shot dead and three others wounded in inter-community clash in Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh today.

DIG (Meerut) R K Vishwakarma said here, that the clash took place on a petty issue between two groups related to BSP MP Shahid Eklaq. In the subsequent firing by one group one Shakib was killed and three others including the MP's brother in law were wounded.

The MP's brother in law Haji Khan has been admitted to the hospital in a critical condition Mr Vishwakarma added.

Meanwhile, PAC personnel have been deployed in the area as a precautionary measure.
