Obituary paid to Varanasi blasts victims in Haryana Assembly

Chandigarh, Mar 17 (UNI) The Haryana Assembly today paid condolences to the victims who died in the bomb blasts in Varanasi on March seven.

''This House expresses its deep sense of sorrow on the sad and untimely demise of those innocents who lost their lives in Varanasi bomb blasts,'' an obituary resolution adopted by the Vidhan Sabha stated.

Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said that the state assembly strongly condemned such a heinous incident and resolved to send its heart-felt condolences to the members of the bereaved families.

Obituaries were also paid to the ten Army personnel belonging to the state who died in various actions.

These martyrs of Haryana, who died in the last six months, included Lt Col Rajeev Bakshi of Panchkula, Havildar Rohtash Singh of Dujana village in Jhajjar district, Havildar Roop Chand of Nand Gaon village in Bhiwani district, L/Naik Virender of Bhaupur village in Faridabad district, Naik Ram Niwas of Alimudinpur village n Gugaon district, Sepoy Mahipal Singh of Shehzadpur village in Ambala district, Sepoy Jai Bhagwan of Siwah village in Jind district, Sepoy Surinder Singh of Chuliyana village in Rohtak district, Sepoy Bhishm of Kharak Pandwan village in Kaithal district and Sepoy Sunil Kumar of Dudhwa village in Bhiwani district.

The legislators observed a two-minute silence as a mark of respect to the deceased.
