Naxalites torch bus in Jharkhand

Ranchi, Mar 17: CPI(Maoist) ultras torched a private bus near Herhanj Karimati Basti in Basti Palamu district this morning (Mar 17, 2006), police said.

On receiving the information, police immediately reached the spot which resulted in a gunbattle.

Around 100 ultras raided the bus which was going from Daltanganj to Ranchi via Panki, police said.

The bus belonged to the brother of Panki MLA Videsh Singh.
