Mentally unsound man with detonator arrested near PMO
New Delhi, Mar 17 (UNI) A mentally unsound man carrying a detonator was picked up from near the Prime Minister's Office at South Block in central Delhi this evening, police sources said.
The man, 35 year old Ashok Kumar hailing from Rothas district in Bihar, was picked up at about 1600 hrs by PM's security personnel, the sources said.
A joint team of the Delhi police and central intelligence agencies interrogated him.
He told the investigators that his brother had been murdered and he had been falsely implicated in the case. He said he had been trying to clear the things with the high officials but to no avail.
Kumar claimed that the detonator belonged to conspirators behind his brother's murder.
The sleuths found him to be mentally unsound and he was later released at about 2100 hrs, the sources added.
