MAHE ties up with Ras Al Khaimah
Dubai, Mar 17, (UNI) Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) has tied up with Ras Al Khaimah, one of the seven emirates of the UAE, to set up a medical and health services university.
The RAK Medical and Health Sciences University proposes to offer various degree programmes in Medicine (MBBS), Dentistry (BDS) and Pharmacy (B Pharma) in the first phase and courses in Nursing and Allied Health Sciences in the second phase.
The authorities hope to start admission to the first batch by February 2007, subject to approvals by the UAE government authorities.
MAHE Vice Chancellor H S Ballal said the medical university, coming up adjacent to an existing hospital, would utilise its facilities for clinical training, he said.
He said that MAHE brings with it five decades of experience in imparting quality professional education at par with international standards.
MAHE was the first medical and health science group of institutes in the private sector in India to be recognised as a deemed university by the Indian government.
