New Delhi, Mar 17 (UNI) Reacting to the disqualification of Ms Jaya Bachchan from the membership of the Rajya Sabha, the Congress today said it had nothing to do with the recommendation made by the Election Commission.

"It was a rcommendation made by a Constitutional body, Election Commission, which was accepted by the President," AICC Treasurer Moti Lal Vora said.

"We (Congress) have nothing to do with it," he added.

"The law has taken its course," Mr Vora said talking to UNI here on Ms Bachchan, wife of superstar Amitabh Bachchan, being disqualified on ground of holding office of profit while being an MP.

The Samajwadi party had blamed the Congress, saying the disqualification smacked of political vendetta on the part of the Congress.
