Kyndiah congratulates Kunjarani

New Delhi, Mar 17 (UNI) Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) and Tribal Affairs P R Kyndiah today congratulated Kunjarani Devi for winning gold medal in the women's 48 kg weightlifting competition in the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.

Mr Kyndiah said it was a matter of great pride that by winning the laurel, she had provided the early sparks to India's campaign at the Games and became the first Indian gold medallist in this edition of the Games.

Wishing her luck for winning many more laurels for the country in future, the minister said in a release here that her achievement was a great feat for the people of the North East and a great moment for the country too.

''We all feel proud and elated. She has done all of us proud,'' the Mister added.
