JD (U) supporters foil nomination of defector

Nagaon, Mar 17 (UNI) The Congress today received a rude shock when irate Janata Dal (U) supporters locked up its party cadidate Rashidul Haque, preventing him from filing his nomination paper.

Mr Haque, who joined the party after resigning from the Janata Dal (U) only a week back, was the Congress candidate for Jamunamukh constiuency.

He was the state president of the JD (U).

The JD (U) supporters, agitated over the defection, did not allow him to move out and file his nomination.

The Congress has no dummy candidate for the constituency.
