India-Canada hold talks on migration issues
New Delhi, Mar 17 (UNI) India and Canada today held talks on the issue of Global Migration.
At the discussion, the Indian side was headed by Overseas Indian Affairs (OIA) Secretary Ramesh Narayanswami, while the Canadian delegation was led by Malcolm Brown, ADM, Strategic Directions and Communicatons, Citizenship and Immigration of Canada.
The talks focussed on areas of mutual cooperation between the two countries Canada on issues relating to international migration and related developments, OIA sources said here today.
The two sides discussed cooperation between the two countries with a view of making international migration a more orderly process with mutual advantage to both the countries.
The talks also covered the ongoing issues relating to high-level dialogue on international migration as well as issues arising from the report of the UN Global Commission on International Migration.
