Hostel rape case: Court remands one to PC

Kolhapur, Mar 16 (UNI) A local court here today remanded an employee of the Maharashtra Government's Ladies Hostel, arrested in connection with a rape case last night, to police custody till March 21.

Police said that Vasant Mahadev Pawar was arrested late last night for allegedly raping a woman in the hostel which is situated in the city's Kalamba suburb.

After the incident became known last evening, the police investigated the matter and arrested Pawar along with three other employees, including two women, who were sent to magisterial custody by the court, police said.

Meanwhile, yet another hostel inmate today registered a complaint against Pawar for molesting her, police added.
