Four found guilty of Mary-Ann torture and murder

LONDON, Mar 17 (Reuters) Four men were today found guilty of the kidnap, murder and torture of 16-year-old Mary-Ann Leneghan and the attempted murder of her teenage friend who was shot in the head but survived.

Adrian Thomas, 20, Jamaile Morally, 22, his brother Joshua Morally, 23, and Llewellyn Adams, 24, all from south London, were convicted by a jury after a two-month trial at Reading Crown Court.

Another defendant, Michael Johnson 19, admitted on Feb. 9 to murdering Leneghan and the attempted murder of her friend.

During the trial, the jury heard how Leneghan and her 18-year-old friend had been abducted in revenge for a gang attack on one of the men who was found guilty.

Leneghan was found dead with her throat cut in a public park in the early hours of May 7 last year. Her friend, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was left for dead and still has bullet fragments in her skull.
