Culling of birds continue in Jalgaon
New Delhi, Mar 17 (UNI) Culling operations continued in Jalgaon today and a total number of 63,000 birds had been killed by this afternoon, the Health Ministry said here.
More than 29,000 birds had been culled yesterday.
An additional sixty teams are being deployed for undertaking work of spraying in the houses where the birds were kept. Contract workers will be deployed and will undertake spraying with the help of the Malaria control wing of the Public Health Department.
The bamboo baskets in which the birds are generally kept are being destroyed by burning.
Flaming and spraying will be done to dis-infect steel wire cages used for keeping birds. The rooms in which the birds are generally kept will be whitewashed.
