Bhrigu Phukan critically ill

Guwahati, Mar 17 (UNI) The former home minister of Asom and senior AGP leader Bhrigu Kumar Phukan is critically ill due to multiple organ failure and is on life support system at AIIMS, New Delhi.

Mr Phukan, who was the general secretary of the All Asom Student Union (AASU), and then became the home minister, is suffering from liver infection followed by lung complicacies. He is in semi-coma stage.

Mr Phukan was supposed to contest in the Jalukbari constituency, which he represented twice in the past. So, the party has fielded Ms Pushpa Deka, party sources informed, UNI MT KK AB 1744
